Leo Howard as Iceman

The Fox films disrespected Iceman on two fronts. First, he wasn’t part of the original X-Men. Instead, he was thrust into a short romance with Rogue as part of the second team. The romance wasn’t the problem, it was the misuse of him and Rogue. Here, Bobby Drake was nothing more than a side character with no real story. Bobby being one of the first Professor X recruits matters to this story, and it’s a story that deserves to be told by the MCU. First, he’s known as the funny guy of the group, a bit cocky, who becomes best friends with Beast. All of that was missing from the Fox’s X-Men, so it’s time for a redo in the MCU.

Leo Howard is a young, talented actor and martial artist ideally suited for a superhero film. He’s grown from Disney Star (Kickin’ It) to tackling more mature roles. In fact, he starred as Lucy Liu’s boy toy in the comedy murder drama Why Women Kill. He’s mostly known for his TV roles, but he’d kill it as Iceman in an origin story before making his big screen debut.

Someone like Justice Smith would also nail the role. If they wanted to go a little older, Cole Sprouse (Riverdale) would make a solid Bobby Drake, too.
