Beast – Hank MCcoy

Beast was one X-Men member who was treated with respect by Fox, especially after they retconned the universe. He took his rightful place as part of Xavier’s first class, but he was much older than Jean and Cyclops, who were part of the next in a line group. Regardless, we got to see Beast’s coming-of-age story play out. However, in the Disney Plus series, we can take a different look into his life.

What we didn’t get was the comic book’s accurate reason he was born with massive expenditures. In the comics, his parents were exposed to radiation, which caused Hank McCoy’s deformity. Of course, like with any retelling, the series could involve the Essex Corporation. Put Hank’s parents in the middle of Sinister’s experiments with genetic splicing. We could get a heartwarming coming-of-age story about a kid growing up with a family who loves him in a world that fears what he is.

Sticking with the comic book source. We could see Hank fall in love with a girl who helped him feel comfortable in his own skin. He wouldn’t be the blue fury beast yet. In the comics, he saved Iceman from a deadly kiss, but there’s a better story.

The series could continue with the kidnapping of Hank’s parents, and have him trying to save them. It could be an Essex trap that lures him into a place where he’s captured and experimented on, resulting in his beast-like appearance. The X-Men can save him and his parents before inviting him to the school for the gifted.
