Loki season 2 is not coming to Disney Plus in October 2022

Loki season 2 will be a part of the MCU’s Phase 5 slate but it won’t be joining the Disney Plus line-up this coming month. 

Marvel Studios has an exciting future ahead of it. The franchise it has built in the Marvel Cinematic Universe reached something of a crossroads with the conclusion of its Infinity Saga, but it used the fourth phase to take the overall story in a new direction, launching The Multiverse Saga and using the Disney Plus streaming platform to tell chapters of that story on the small screen too.

Loki was an imperative part of that story, with the Disney Plus series expanding on the time travel lore within the MCU, the multiverse itself, and setting the stage for the arrival of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror. And that story will continue, as the show will return for a second season.

Loki season 2 will be a part of the MCU’s fifth phase, and even though the TV aspect of Phase Four ends with the conclusion of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law in October, don’t be expecting Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief to return for spooky season. The show is still in production at the moment, but when can viewers expect its second season to premiere?

Loki season 2 release date predictions

Loki season 2 will be released in summer 2023. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed this at San Diego Comic-Con in July when he revealed the slate for the remainder of Phase Four, all of Phase Five and part of Phase Six.

Loki was one of the multiple properties not to be given an exact release date, but if we were to predict based on the graphic Feige unveiled, a July release seems like a strong possibility. If that graphic is in order of release, Loki and fellow MCU series ECHO have summer release dates, coming out between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (which premieres in early May) and The Marvels (which arrives in movie theaters at the end of July). As ECHO seems to be set for release first, that makes a July premiere more likely for Loki.

Of course, those are just predictions. It’s best to wait for the official release date announcement from Marvel Studios before getting too excited. Regardless of when exactly it premieres, Loki season 2 will be a part of our summer selection next year!
