She-Hulk cast: Who plays Leap-Frog?
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law introduced a quirky new superhero in its most recent episode. Who plays Eugene Patillo, a.k.a. Leap-Frog?
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law was quite cameo-heavy when it debuted, with familiar faces like Bruce Banner, a.k.a. the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Wong (Benedict Wong) making their presence felt multiple times within the first four episodes.
Recent episodes of the Disney Plus show have focused on both developing the storyline and Jennifer Walters’ growth as a character but it was still common knowledge that there would be some familiar Marvel characters in the second half of the series. The most recent episode finally made that happen.
Episode 8 of She-Hulk introduced us to a new hero (and no, we’re not talking about the long-awaited arrival of Daredevil). Meet Leapfrog.
Who plays Leap-Frog She-Hulk?
Leap-Frog is portrayed by actor Brandon Stanley. The character is something of an unfortunate hero, who attempts to stop a robbery, but is incapable of mounting any real hand-to-hand combat and suffers an embarrassing suit mishap (malfunctioning thrusters) that results in a nasty fall.
Leap-Frog’s real name is Eugene Patilio and he becomes Jennifer Walters’ new client, hilariously recapping the events of his saving-the-day-gone-wrong adventure. As for why he is trying his hand at superheroing, Stanley revealed in an interview that Eugene is trying to clear his father Vincent Patilio’s bad name.
This lines up with the character’s comic book origins. In Marvel Comics, it’s Vincent who dons the mantle of Leap-Frog and becomes a supervillain. After being thwarted by Daredevil, he retires the suit and the mantle. Some time later, Eugene dons the suit and becomes Frog-Man. Much like we see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s She-Hulk, his well-meaning actions results in some comedic goofs.
Needless to say, Brandon Stanley made Leap-Frog incredibly memorable in a short amount of time, and is a great addition to the show.
