On Oct. 21, Black Adam will finally arrive in theaters as Dwayne Johnson looks to shake up the DC Extended Universe hierarchy.

After years in development, Black Adam is finally about to hit the big screens and all eyes are on the film which could prove to be a make-or-break moment for Warner Bros. and DC. With the future of the DCEU unclearBlack Adam has the potential to shake up the trajectory of the franchise which has been struggling in recent months.

There seems to be a lot of excitement for the film which could be the biggest box office performer in months and Johnson’s status as the film’s lead definitely helps as the actor has long been a draw for moviegoers. But before you head out to see the film, it’s likely you’re wondering how much time you’ll need to dedicate to the film.

Black Adam runtime explained

If you’re planning on heading out to see Black Adam, you’re going to want to set aside a couple of hours of time. This is because the Black Adam runtime comes in at 2 hours and 5 minutes, but with trailers, you’re likely to be at your local theater for at least 2 hours and 15-25 minutes.

The Black Adam runtime is actually far shorter than Warner Bros’ other big 2022 release, The Batman, which featured a runtime of 2 hours and 56 minutes. It also makes the film the shortest DCEU origin film of the modern era behind Man of Steel (2 hours and 23 minutes), Wonder Woman (2 hours and 21 minutes), Shazam! (2 hours and 12 minutes) and Aquaman (2 hours and 23 minutes).
