Rhaenyra Targaryen

Last but not least is Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, leader of Team Black, Mother of Bastards, and the lead of House of the Dragon. I am going to get a lot of hate for this, but she deserves to be on this list. She was easy to root for as a young princess who didn’t want to adhere to chauvinistic standards. Sure, Rhae has her claim to the throne bestowed upon her by her father. What did Rhae do? She, like Alicent, committed treason against the crown by not having one child out of wedlock but three. Then she gets upset at those who can see the truth. Why?

She’s well within her right to fight for her children, but she’s also dead wrong. We saw her willingly offer her son to Alicent’s daughter in a desperate move to give her children some legitimacy. Alicent didn’t bite because they both know if the truth came out, they’d all die.

People celebrated the idea that Rhae set her husband free. However, she ordered the death of an innocent man… They set the man ablaze to get the job done. Rhae claims to be for the throne, but she’s a walking-talking contradiction. She’ll step on whoever she can to get what she wants, teach her kids to lie religiously and stand by said lie even when the truth is obvious. She’s okay with putting another woman through emotional anguish to keep her marriage legitimate.

House of the Dragon has an issue with unlikable main characters, and it starts with the woman we are supposed to root for.
