11. Hulk

People may not realize how great the Hulk truly is because all they see is his strength. They’re missing a lot that goes with that. There’s more than one Hulk inside his body and each of them plays a crucial role in his evolution as a character.

Regular Hulk tricked the smarter Red Hulk (General Ross). World War Hulk outsmarted Doctor Strange and Reed Richards. Devil Hulk was the most cunning of them all. He took on a team of Avengers and won. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes assumed they defeated him with a giant ray gun. In actuality, the Devil Hulk was trying to get captured.

The Hulk may have started off as just the Jade Giant, but he’s been more than that for decades. The scary part is that he keeps getting better.

10. Iceman

Here’s another character where people have a simplistic view of what they can do. Iceman does more than create ice. In the reader’s defense, he underachieved for decades. Thankfully Wolverine telling him to step it up and Bobby coming out as gay were the confidence boosts he needed. He immediately embraced how great he is and became the omega-level mutant he should have been for years.

Along the way, Iceman has done things that should be impossible. On one occasion he froze Hell. That means all the, “When Hell freezes over” agreements should now be settled. In Marauders, he beats the giant dragon Fin Fang Foom and sends him running scared. Those are major wins that have to be acknowledged.
