3. Thanos

The Mad Titan could be the scariest being outside of Earth. Maybe more than Galactus. The galactic world eater can be reasoned with. Thanos can’t be. If he has his mind set on something, he’s going to do it. He’s not just a brute either. He has a genius intellect and is a phenomenal planner and leader as well.

It was difficult not putting Thanos at No. 1. The only issue here is Thanos dreams big and loses bigger. He killed half the universe in Infinity Gauntlet only to be tricked by Nebula. A being he put in the position to begin with. He attempted to find and kill his son and ended up trapped by the person he was trying to murder (Infinity by Jonathan Hickman).

Despite his losses, he’s smart, stronger, and crafty enough to be a threat forever. This writer expects Thanos to do something big in 2023 or 2024. It’s been a while since the Mad Titan has attempted something crazy.

2. Jean Grey

As she’s gotten older, Jean Grey has become more dangerous. She’s learned how to control her telepathy and telekinesis in ways that no one else has. For example, she telekinetically stopped a bullet from killing Xavier while it was in motion. In X-Men No. 4 by Gerry Duggan, she defeated a powerful villain named Nightmare with ease with her telepathy. Not even Doctor Strange could do that.

Jean Grey rarely loses. If she does, it’s not usually her fault. In the newest run of X-Men, we see exactly why that is. She consistently gets better at leading her team, becomes more creative with her powers, and has defeated her foes and made it look easy. In A.X.E. X-Men, Jean she debated a literal god while protecting people from certain death. Name someone else who can do that.

Look for her to get even better in the upcoming Marvel Comics crossovers.
