Will there be a new episode of Rick and Morty season 6 tonight on Adult Swim?  When does season 6, episode 7 air?

Season 6 of Rick and Morty continues to get better as each episode comes out. Instead of going the goofy route with tons of weird looking beings and interdimensional cable, they’ve combined the normal shenanigans with well written episodes. That’s not to say that the stories haven’t always been great. This season just seems to have balanced things differently from the previous five.

Of course, Rick and Morty will always give fans the humor they’ve become accustomed to. The “Final DeSmithation” episode is a perfect example. Rick and Jerry were fighting their way through a fortune cookie factory to stop a future where Jerry sleeps with his mom. Within it was a ton of gadgets and clever attacks from Rick. And, of course, silliness and a close call for Jerry.

Is there a new Rick and Morty tonight, October 23?

Unfortunately, there won’t be a new episode of Rick and Morty tonight. The show is on a break until November 20th. That means you have time to catch up if you’ve missed episodes from this season.

If you haven’t, this writer recommends rewatching the past seasons. Particularly, the ones that will help you understand the current season.

There isn’t a lot that gets into Rick’s past and depth in season 1 until “Ricksy Business”. You don’t realize how much until season 5. During season 2 in “Mortynight Run” Jerry gets switched with another Jerry from a different reality. Something that this writer didn’t think would be important until it came up in the season 6 premiere. Season 3 has two episodes that are crucial to the Rick and Morty story and that’s “The ABC’s of Beth” and “The Rickshank Rickdemption”.

Season 4 is where things start to get deep. Make sure to watch “Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri” to see the first appearance of Space Beth. Finally, “Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort”,  “Forgetting Sarick Mortshall”, and “Rickmurai Jack “from season 5 will help you truly understand Rick as a person.

After watching those, you’ll completely understand everything that’s going on in the Smith’s and Rick Sanchez. Then, give season 6 a rewatch and see how everything is playing out. All of the previous seasons are on Hulu, HBO Max, and available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video.
