Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania kicks off Phase Five of the MCU and here’s everything you need to know about it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will open Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by reacquainting us with Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, as well as their family. Though its existence has essentially been confirmed for years now, the threequel has become that much more tangible in the past two years, with the confirmation of its villain, its title and the first trailer.
Now, Marvel Studios have confirmed when the movie once titled Ant-Man 3 will be making its presence felt on audiences and fans can’t stop talking about, particularly because of how it will introduce us to the MCU’s next big villain, and play an important role in the Multiverse Saga.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania release date
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be released on February 17, 2023.
This was the film’s original release date before it was subsequently delayed to later in the year. It was then returned to that original February release date when it was swapped with The Marvels which had been placed in the slot instead (with The Marvels moving to July instead).
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania cast
Ant-Man 3 will see Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly reprise their roles as Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne as they bring Ant-Man and the Wasp back to the silver screen. Also returning are Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.
Joining them will be Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang (as she replaces Avengers: Endgame‘s Emma Fuhrmann in the role) and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer
After an audience-exclusive trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was screened at Disney D23 Fan Expo, the first official trailer was released online in October 2022.
The second trailer for the movie was unveiled during ESPN’s coverage of the National Football College Championship in January 2023, showcasing a closer look at the conflict between Scott and Kang – and how Kang plans on using Scott’s guilt over losing so much time with daughter Cassie to manipulate him into doing his bidding.

The first official promo stills for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania were released after its trailer debuted. After that, Marvel Studios unveiled a few more photos in the lead-up to the film’s theatrical release.

What is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania about?
The third Ant-Man movie will be strikingly different to its predecessors, as a significant portion of it will be set in the Quantum Realm. It’s also set to be more serious than the first two films as well, as it will bring Scott Lang face-to-face with the dreaded Kang the Conqueror – the character who is set to become the MCU’s next big bad.
Here is the official synopsis from Marvel Studios:
"Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures, and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible."
