Christmas is coming early for Marvel fans! The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special release date has leaked and fans might be surprised by the release date.

While fans have known about The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special for a while now, Marvel has done a good job of keeping fans in the dark when it’s come to details about the special.

There’s been no official synopsis released, the cast was never officially confirmed, no promo materials released and, most importantly, no confirmation was ever provided regarding when the special would be coming outside of “this holiday season.”

Well, that’s all changed thanks to a recent leak that saw the first trailer for the film making its way online. Via the leaked trailer, we get the chance to not only see several members of the Guardians team back in action but finally have a bit of clarity regarding what the special will be about and when it will be hitting Disney Plus!

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special release date

According to a leaked trailer for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Marvel’s first Marvel Cinematic Universe-set holiday special will be available to stream on Disney Plus beginning on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. That’s right, we said Friday!

After moving its Marvel shows to Wednesdays (and most recently to Thursdays), Marvel has begun returning to the Friday block with its one-off specials. After dropping Werewolf by Night on a Friday, Marvel will drop its next holiday special on Friday as well which is a welcome return for those who have been missing Marvel drops on Fridays.

The Nov. 25 release date means the special will be released the day after Thanksgiving, which should set it up to have a massive weekend as families look for something new to enjoy over the holiday weekend.

Admittedly, the release date is earlier than many expected as it will release on Disney Plus only a few short weeks after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever opens in theaters on Nov. 11. There is also a chance it could become the final MCU original to release on Disney Plus in 2022 as not other titles have been confirmed for December thus far.
