Who is Rogue?

A generation of X-Men fans were introduced to Rogue in Fox’s X-Men: The Animated Series. Lenore Zann voiced the super-powered Southern belle we’ve all come to know and love. We saw Rogue as the high-flying, super-strong mutant with southern charm and tortured soul.

Before becoming the heroine Rogue, Ana was a young teen with a complicated past. Her mutant gifts to siphon life forces and abilities made affection impossible. She learned the hard way when her powers manifested while kissing her boyfriend. Consequently, she left her love in a lifelong coma, enraging the boy’s father and townspeople. After the time-traveler Cable saved her, the young Ana would meet Destiny and Mystique, who raised her to be strong, fierce, and a fighter.

Fans of the X-Men know all too well the role Rogue plays in Captain Marvel’s history. Mystique and Destiny took in the troubled teen. Together, they did some bad things. Captain Marvel stepped in to stop the mutant trio. Rogue overheard Destiny saying Captain Marvel would cost Rogue her soul. So, Rogue went after Carol and absorbed her abilities. As a result, Rogue became one of the most physically gifted mutants. However, she absorbed Carol Danvers’ consciousness, which haunted her until Professor X got involved, prompting her to become a member of the X-Men.
