Marvel developing another new TV series (and it might surprise you)
Marvel Studios is reportedly bringing another beloved character back for their own TV series, and Vision Quest might surprise people.
Marvel Studios has expanded the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the past two years through its growing supply of Disney Plus original shows. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, which aired this summer, was just the most recent, but it’s far from the last.
With Phase 5 of the MCU on the horizon, we can expect more shows such as Secret Invasion, Echo, Loki season 2 and Daredevil: Born Again.
However, a new report suggests that another new series is on the horizon, and like so many of the ones we have already seen, it could be giving the spotlight to a beloved MCU character.
Vision to return in Marvel’s Vision Quest?
A new report from Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic Podcast suggests that Marvel Studios is developing a solo series focused on The Vision and it will be titled Vision Quest. He commented:
"“I’m told that next week, Marvel will be opening a writers’ room for a Vision show titled Vision Quest”."
While information like this can always raise eyebrows given how secretive Marvel is known for being, Sneider added that the scoop is “coming from a good source who has been accurate in the past”. And, as Comic Book Resources points out, Sneider was the one who broke the news of Harrison Ford being cast as Thunderbolt Ross before the announcement was officially made.
Marvel fans will already know that Vision is portrayed by Paul Bettany. The star voiced J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man movies before the A.I. was reborn as an android known as The Vision. He would then appear in the likes of Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War as he fell in love with Wanda Maximoff. He was killed in the latter of those two films when Thanos ripped the Mind Stone from his head.
Bettany reprised the role in the Emmy-winning Disney Plus series WandaVision – the very first MCU series on the platform – when the character was resurrected via chaos magic as a living figment of Wanda’s imagination. That series would also see the reconstructed White Vision debut, setting the stage for his potential return sometime later after Wanda’s Vision restored the emotionless android’s memories.
As the Vision Quest comic book series told the story of Vision’s evolution into the emotionless White Vision, it’s quite likely that the potential Disney Plus series would do the same. And that would make it the second WandaVision spin-off series after the upcoming Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
As with all reports, it is important to take this with a pinch of salt until Marvel outright confirms it. Nevertheless, the possibility of a Vision series would be quite exciting!
