Penguin HBO Max series cast Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone

Actress Cristin Milioti is the latest to join the HBO Max Penguin series, joining the cast in the role of Sofia Falcone.

On Oct. 31, Deadline and other trades revealed that actress Cristin Milioti will be officially joining the spin-off series as Sofia Falcone.

For those who don’t know, she is the daughter of Carmine Falcone, who John Turturro played in the film. The trade also reports, “Sofia is fighting with The Penguin (Farrell) for control of the city” and will be the female series lead.

Milioti will be the second actress to portray and bring Sofia to life in a live-action series, with the first being Crystal Reed, who played her in the FOX series Gotham. Reed is no stranger to DC Comics because she was also part of the live-action DC Universe Swamp Thing series as Abby Arcane.

As of no plot details about the series are being kept under wraps.

Though it’s clear Matt Reeves is starting to find cohesion in his cinematic Batman Universe. The director has already unveiled his plan before, and it now seems Reeves looks to expand beyond the silver screen and into the realm of streaming with three spinoffs currently in development, including Penguin, an Arkham Asylum series written by Antonio Campos, along with a GCPD spin-off as well.

In addition to the live-action element in terms of Reeves looking to expand and flesh out the source material related to his Batman Universe.

Actor Paul Dano who portrayed the Riddler in Reeve’s blockbuster film just recently released Issue 1 of his Riddler prequel comic series that will be a limited series, and span the course of six issues.

The HBO MAX series will take place after the events of the Warner Bros Blockbuster and will lean heavily and focus on Colin Farrell’s character of Oz Cobblepot, who Farrell played in the film.

As of no plot details or other casting announcements have been revealed,

The Penguin is executive produced by Reeves; Dylan Clark; Farrell; Lauren LeFranc, who writes and serves as showrunner; and Craig Zobel, who directs the first two episodes.

Matt Reeves’s The Batman is currently streaming on HBO MAX.
