Black Panther 2: Is Wakanda Forever going to stream on Disney Plus?

Black Panther 2 will be opening in theaters on Nov. 11, but will Wakanda Forever be available to stream on Disney Plus as well? 

It’s been a quiet few months at the box office, but that is about to change with the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on Nov. 11.

The latest film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to light up the box office to become one of, if not the, biggest theatrical release of the year. Early projections suggest the film could bring in between $175 million and $200 million, totals which would make it the biggest box office opening of 2022.

The film is one fans are eager to see but as some fans prepare to head out to see Black Panther 2 in theaters on opening weekend, others are questioning whether they might be able to enjoy the film from the comfort of their home via Disney Plus.

Is Black Panther 2 streaming on Disney Plus?

At this time, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is not available to stream on Disney Plus as the film is only available to watch in theaters. However, the movie will eventfully stream via Disney Plus like all other Marvel movies.

As you might expect, Disney has transitioned to releasing its major blockbusters exclusively in theaters to help bring in revenue via ticket sales. This has led movies such as Wakanda Forever to once again open exclusively in theaters before making their way to Disney’s streaming platform for audiences to watch at home.

Will Black Panther 2 stream on Disney Plus?

While Wakanda Forever will not be available to stream on Disney Plus beginning on Nov. 11 when the film opens in theaters worldwide, the Black Panther sequel will stream on Disney Plus eventually.

Typically, Disney films have a 45-70 day theatrical window before they are able to stream on Disney Plus. As such, it’s likely we won’t see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stream on Disney Plus until early 2023.

Currently, Disney has not announced a release date for the film’s Disney Plus debut but it’s likely we’ll see it arrive sometime in January 2023.
