Wondering what to wear to Wakanda Forever? Find out why fans are being encouraged to wear white to see the latest Marvel Studios film.

When one typically heads out to see a Marvel Studios film, it’s not often that they put too much thought into what to wear. For most fans, they’ll dress in casual and comfortable clothes which oftentimes includes rocking some Marvel attire.

However, as fans prepare to head out to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever fans are putting a bigger focus on their attire and questioning what to wear to Wakanda Forever — and with good reason.

Why are fans wearing white to Wakanda Forever?

As Marvel fans prepare to head out the door to see Wakanda Forever, many are planning on wearing all white in honor of Chadwick Boseman in an effort meant to reflect the culture and mourning connected to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The concept was first launched via TikTok by Anthony Bryant and fellow TikTok user @Official_AuntieWiggz in a pair of viral videos. In Bryant’s original video addressing Black Panther fans, Bryant called for fans to fans to wear all white when heading out to see the film “in honor of those who have come before us — for the ancestors and for Chadwick Boseman.”

The color white is often associated as a color of mourning across the globe in many cultures and is often worn with respect to the deceased. This was a sentiment Bryant echoed when speaking with BuzzFeed, telling the outlet:

"“The wearing of white can symbolize various things concerning spiritual practices and general life. It can be a sign of purity and cleansing; it can also be a color used to deflect negativity. The wearing of white can symbolize peace or baptism — a rebirth. The wearing of white in certain cultures also symbolizes a veneration of the dead or the ancestors.”"

In wearing white to see Wakanda Forever, the hope is to unify and “ultimately symbolize hope as we move forward,” not just as Marvel fans but as a global community.
