Is Superman and Lois season 3 still happening?

With all the changes going on at The CW, one can’t help but wonder if Superman and Lois season 3 is still happening or if it’s got caught in the crosshairs.

It has never been a stranger time to be a fan of The CW. While the network was once known to have the highest renewal rate among the broadcast networks, 2022 has been an entirely different story.

With the network being sold off to a new owner, several beloved shows that once would have been likely candidates for renewals were instead canceled. This included several DC Comics series with Legends of Tomorrow, Naomi, and Batwoman all getting the axe.

We thought that the initial wave of cancellations was the worst of it, but then news began to break that several shows had been final-seasoned. Thus far, the list of shows ending in 2023 includes The Flash, Riverdale, and Nancy Drew… and sadly that list is expected to continue to grow.

We’ve already gotten word that Stargirl won’t be coming back for another season, but what exactly is the status of its fellow DC Comics drama, Superman and Lois?

Has Superman and Lois been canceled?

While The CW has been on a canceling spree this season, pulling the plug on a number of shows, Superman and Lois is not one of those shows The CW has canceled. The Saturn Award-winning series is coming back for another season and has not been canceled by The CW as of November 2022.

Now, it is possible the show could be canceled or final-seasoned as the network is still making decisions on its current lineup. However, we do know that we’ll at least be getting a third season of the show. We also know this new season will be coming in 2023!

When is Superman and Lois season 3 coming to The CW?

Although The CW has not yet announced its midseason schedule, it is expected that Superman and Lois season 3 will take flight sometime between January and February 2023. Season 1 arrived in February, while season 2 arrived in January which seems to suggest we should see season 3 arrive early in the new year.

What’s going to be interesting to see is when The CW ends up slotting the show into its lineup and whether it could move to a new night after airing on Tuesday nights across its first two seasons. Should the show remain on Tuesday night, it’s possible we could see season 3 arrive as early as Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023.
