What comic book characters best align with each zodiac sign? What are the traits that make each one work? You can find out right here.

Horoscopes and astrological signs have interested people for as long as they’ve been around. They’re looked at as ways to help explain what’s within themselves. For example, people look at signs and believe it’s why they love the things they do or why certain situations make them emotional. While the science has been rejected by the scientific community, that hasn’t stopped going to them to help expound on life. Nevertheless, if it isn’t hurting anyone, this writer is all for looking to the stars for answers.

Each zodiac sign comes with specific characteristics for the people born under them. This is why you’ll hear things like, “I’m stubborn because I’m a Taurus.” After looking through each of the twelve signs, it’s easy to make a connection between them and comic book characters. They all have personalities that fit certain signs. Here are the twelve signs, their dates, some of their characteristics, and what comic book character fits with them.

Each trait about the signs according to horoscope.com.

Aries (Ram)

Dates: March 21 – April 19

Zodiac traits: Passionate and independent. Competitive to the max, the best way to motivate an Aries is to turn something into a contest. Everyone naturally looks to Aries, and being responsible for others comes naturally.

Comic book character: Tony Stark

This is the first and the easiest to pick. Tony Stark’s futurist personality comes with a need to protect others. It may seem selfish at times, but it isn’t. Tony has sacrificed his love life, friendships, and his personal fortune to keep the world safe. And, despite what people may think, there are a ton of heroes that look to him as a leader. Even when he doesn’t want to be one.

Passion could go two ways here. Of course, Tony Stark loves to love. He’s had more than a few romantic interests in his life. Most of them fizzle out because Tony can’t handle the emotions that come with it. Or, and here comes the second passion, he gets caught up in his need to be a better engineer and scientist. This could happen again with his current girlfriend Patsy Walker.

Honorable mentions:  Nick Fury, Magneto, Cecil Stedman

Taurus (Bull)

Dates: April 20 – May 20

Zodiac traits: Ambitious and trustworthy. With a rep as one of the hardest-working signs in the zodiac, a Bull is never afraid to roll up those sleeves and get to work. When it comes to friendship, once you’re in with a Bull, you’re in for life.

Comic book character: Agent 355

Agent 355 worked harder than almost anyone in comic books. In a world where the fate of humanity lay on the shoulders of one man, 355 was given the burden of protecting him. It was a difficult task to begin with. It didn’t help that Yorick was immature and reckless. This left 355 to do more than protect Yorick. She had to help him grow as a person too. This was a mission that only a hard-working person could complete.

No matter how annoying Yorick got (and he could be infuriating on an award-winning level ), 355 cared for him. Sure, her feelings were romantic, but she was his friend first. That went for Mann as well. She always went above and beyond to protect them. This meant that she had to put her life on the line for them every day for over a year. Like the sign said, a friend for life.

Honorable mention: Barbara Gordon, James Gordon, Cable

Gemini (Twins)

Dates: May 21 – June 20

Zodiac traits: Known for having two different sides they can display to the world. Energetic and quick-witted, Gemini never gets stuck in the past and doesn’t ruminate on what might have been.  Funny, witty, and talking a mile a minute, a Gemini will keep you laughing,

Comic book character: Billy Butcher

Don’t focus on Billy Butcher from The Boys on Amazon Prime. The comic book version is the one that represents a Gemini the best. Especially the two sides. Butcher has a friendly and charming personality. Throughout The Boys comic series, he would keep his teammates laughing. Usually at the expense of Hughie.  It’s how he maintained his relationships despite the other side of him.

Beneath the jokes and charm beats the heart of a ruthless, angry, and sadistic man. While his war on supes started in the past, he has tunnel vision when it comes to their present and future. All he cared about was stopping their crimes now. Once that was complete, he could make sure they didn’t have a future.

Honorable mention: Harvey Dent (duh), Jason Todd, Hank McCoy

Cancer (Crab)

Dates: June 21 – July 22

Zodiac traits: Emotional, intuitive, and practically psychic. Cancer signs may seem prickly and standoffish at first, but once they make the decision to become friends with someone, that person has a friend for life.

Comic book character: Logan (psychic replaced with him smelling a lie)

There’s no part of the description above that doesn’t scream Wolverine. As gruff as his exterior is, no one cares and loves as hard as Logan. You can look at how he raised Kate Pryde and Jubilee and see that for certain. There are times when he can be irritable, but that’s because he’s over 150 years old and has seen the worst the world and beyond has to offer. Nevertheless, he still finds a reason to protect those that deserve it.

Logan takes his friendships seriously as well. It’s why he gets so upset when he feels betrayed. However, he’s more than willing to forgive. Cyclops, Spider-Man, and Steve Rogers have all done and said horrible things to and about him. Yet he still has their back when it’s needed. He may not say it out loud, but his actions show that he considers them friends.

Honorable mention: Aquaman, Midnighter, Namor

Leo (Lion)

Dates: July 23 – August 22

Zodiac traits: This sign knows that in order to be respected and admired, he, she, or they need to put in the effort worthy of a leader. For Leos, love itself—whether falling in love, thinking about love, or making love—is one of their favorite things in the world

Comic book character: Atom Eve

Atom Eve personifies a Leo. Especially when it comes to love. The way she fell and continued to treat Mark Grayson (Invincible) is a perfect example. She loved him no matter how bad things got. Sometimes she had to push him away because he was putting other people in danger, but she never stopped caring. Eventually, he saw why she moved away and got his act together.

Like the trait above says, you have to put in the effort. Whenever someone stopped doing so, Eve let it be known that she was aware of it. Sometimes that meant cutting people off. In the end, she was always better off for it. And the people who she cut off got worse or changed so they could be in her life again.

Honorable mention: T’Challa, Jessica Jones, Mary Jane Watson

Virgo (Virgin)

Dates: August 23 – September 22

Zodiac traits: Smart, sophisticated, and kind. Virgo gets the job done without complaining. Virgos are amazing friends, always there to lend a hand and also lend advice. They have a rich inner life, and can sometimes seem shy at first meeting.

Comic book character: Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler never complains about anything. He’s been a protector of mutants despite all of the changes that have come along the way. Some of the shifts went against what he stood for. Kurt almost quit when he found out about the X-Force kill squad.  However, he quickly came back to make sure he could protect people (read X-Men: Second Coming for more on that).

You can also count on Kurt to be a helping hand. Even when he doesn’t want to. In Way of X, Kurt helps Legion build a place for mutants to congregate. In Legion of X, he’s showing how a hero can protect with more than just fists. He’s helping pave the way for new ways of thinking that seems to be growing throughout Krakoa. An evolution that wouldn’t be possible without him being helpful.

Honorable mention: Mother’s Milk, Groot, Miles Morales

Captain America, Steve Rogers, Is Captain America dead?, Is Steve Rogers dead?, Does Captain America die?, Does Steve Rogers die?, Marvel, Marvel Cinematic Universe, MCU

Libra (Balance/Scales)

Dates: September 23 – October 22

Zodiac traits: Intelligent, kind, and always willing to put others before themselves, Libras value harmony in all forms. Intense and energetic, Leos thrive on social interactions and have no problem making friends.

Comic book character: Steve Rogers

Before Steve Rogers became Captain America, he was putting others ahead of him. He didn’t want to join the military for self-gain. He felt the need to put his life on the line so others wouldn’t have to. And no matter how often he fights, he’d much rather talk things out than throw a punch.

Steve Rogers isn’t a social butterfly. That being said, look at how often people want to be around him. In fact, without him, the Avengers wouldn’t be as admired as they are. In many ways, he is the Avengers. Everyone gravitates to him. So much so that the mutants of Krakoa resurrected him to lead during A.X.E. Judgment Day.

Honorable mention: Luke Cage, Nightwing, Thor

Scorpio (Scorpion)

Dates: October 23 – November 21

Zodiac traits: Passionate, independent, and unafraid to blaze their own trail. Scorpio signs make a statement wherever they go. They love debates, aren’t afraid of controversy, and won’t back down from a debate.

Comic book character: Storm

Storm has been on all the premier comic book teams in Marvel Comics. It isn’t just because she’s an omega-level mutant. Her upfront personality and never being afraid to be herself is part of it. Whenever she leaves a team, they feel the loss. Even if she was only there for a short time.

Storm is fearless. Not just on the battlefield where she’s fought literal gods. Storm is brave in ways that many aren’t. She’s never been afraid to speak her mind. Even the bravest of heroes bite their tongues when certain topics are brought up. Not Storm. Whether it’s her friends, enemies, or peers, she will always let you know how she feels. People may not like it, but it’s hard not to respect it.

Honorable mention: Abigail Brand, Maria Hill, Jean Grey

Sagittarius (Archer)

Dates: November 22 – December 21

Zodiac traits: Open-hearted, generous, and big-spirited, but Sagittarius is always truthful. Because of this, they may hurt others’ feelings or may be called out for not having tact or empathy. In bed and in relationships, Sags are adventurous and giving, able to adeptly try new things or break down barriers.

Comic book character: Alana

This writer is on record saying that Saga is one of the greatest comic books ever written. Part of the reason is Alana. She embodies the adventurous vibe of the entire series. Something that a Sagittarius is known for. Without this side of her, the book wouldn’t exist. She made herself a criminal by daring to be more. It’s what keeps the series going. This writer doesn’t know if it’s as good without her.

Like the description of the Sagittarius above says, it can seem like Alana doesn’t have empathy. Realistically, she’s incredibly understanding. She didn’t have to take in the son of her enemy, but she did. Not only is she raising him, she loves him like he’s her own son. That’s not something a person without empathy does.

Honorable mention: Damian Wayne, Emma Frost, Prince Robot IV

Capricorn (Goat)

Dates: December 22 – January 19

Zodiac traits: Hardworking and fully in control of their destiny. They will always get what they set their mind to, in both their personal and professional life. A Capricorn will not take “no” for an answer, either from themselves or from an underling.

Comic book character: Bruce Wayne

Hard-working, determined and doesn’t take no for an answer. How is that not Bruce Wayne? Ever since his parents died, Bruce has worked long days and nights to turn his mind and body into perfection. That’s how he maintains control of his life and his destiny. Well, the illusion of control.

There have been times when Bruce’s life has been out of his control (life now for example), but you’d never know by how Bruce reacts. In spite of all the horrible things that happen to knock him down, he always gets back up and shows the world that he’s ready for anything. If you ask him why, he’ll simply say because he’s Batman. A response that seems to be true.

Honorable mention: Kate Pryde, Frank Castle, Kate Kane

Aquarius (Water Bearer)

Dates: January 20 – February 18

Zodiac traits: Independent and enigmatical, Aquarians are unique. There is no one quite like them. Aquarians can juggle a lot of balls, but they never seem stressed. By focusing on the here and now, By focusing on the here and now, Aquarius is good at tuning out any noise or self-doubt and getting the job done.

Comic book character: Victor von Doom

There is no one in any comic book like Victor von Doom. There’s also no one who is more independent. He won’t join teams because he doesn’t need them. If he isn’t the leader, Doom won’t be a part of it. When he does, it’s because he wants something. After he gets it, he’ll leave or kill them immediately.

An Aquarius is known for their ability to multitask. No one does that better than Dr. Doom. He’s the ruler of a country, a supervillain (or hero depending on who you ask), one of the smartest scientists in the multiverse, and skilled enough in mystic arts to be Sorcerer Supreme. The best characters can do one or two of these at once. Nobody but Doom can do it all.

Honorable mention: Conan the Barbarian, Thragg, Thanos

Pisces (Fish)

Dates: February 19 – March 20

Zodiac traits: Creative and deeply intuitive. Pisces signs are sensitive, and get along well in small groups of people. A Pisces has great intuition, which can guide them well, and help them make creative or intellectual leaps other people might not be able to see or consider.

Comic book character: Peter Parker

With or without his powers, Peter Parker is creative and highly intelligent. There have been times when his powers have been enhanced, lessened, or flat-out gone. Regardless of their levels, he’s still found a way to come out victorious.

Spider-Man used to say he isn’t a team person. Over the last couple of decades, that’s come to be false. He’s been on the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and a team that saved the Spider-Verse. The latter is a large team, but he’s done his best work with smaller groups. Just like a Pisces.

And when it comes to being intuitive, does anything work better than a Spider-Sense?

Honorable mention: Daredevil, Superior Spider-Man (Otto Octavius), America Chavez
