The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will bring back Norman Reedus as the beloved TWD character but it won’t be arriving on screens anytime soon.
Daryl Dixon is a fan-favorite character on The Walking Dead. Initially something of a supporting character in the early seasons, Daryl became a scene stealer pretty early on, and that served him well when he became the leading man of the show after Andrew Lincoln’s departure as Rick Grimes.
We may have seen Daryl’s story play out over 11 seasons of The Walking Dead but the show’s series finale will not be the last we see of the character, as he is set to return to screens in his own spin-off. Initially set to be a spinoff focusing on Daryl and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), the show is now tentatively titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and will focus on the character as he heads to Europe.
If you’re expecting the show to take over from The Walking Dead when it concludes its run in November, then you might be disappointed as it won’t be airing this month (or even this year).
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon release date predictions
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will air on AMC in 2023. The show has yet to begin filming, but there have been some recent casting announcements, so the pieces are coming together. That said, filming will take time, so a mid-late 2023 are the more likely options (with the latter being the most likely).
Moreover, AMC will likely be busy with plenty of Walking Dead content early on next year, with Maggie and Negan spin-off The Walking Dead: Dead City premiering in April 2023, and Fear The Walking Dead returning for its eighth season as well.
There is less known about Daryl Dixon and the recently-announced Rick and Michonne series, but as far as recent updates from AMC go, all spin-offs are still set to premiere next year.
