There was a lot to love about the fourth season of Stranger Things, but there is absolutely no denying that the show’s breakout performance came from Joseph Quinn. As Eddie Munson, Quinn delivered a masterful performance that won over the hearts of millions of fans and skyrocketed Quinn to the stratosphere.
Following his turn in Stranger Things, fans have been eager to know what could be next for the breakout star who has quickly become one of the most sought-after actors in the game. He’s already been tapped to star in the next installment of the A Quiet Place franchise and rumors are beginning to swirl regarding what could be next for the star.
One potential landing spot for Quinn is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an idea that many fans have already gotten behind. Marvel remains one of the biggest franchises in all of entertainment and continues to attract some of the biggest names in the game.
With Marvel looking ahead to the future, there are so many amazing new characters who have been recently introduced with even more newcomers still on the way. This includes the first family of Marvel, the Fantastic Four.
While many eyes have been on who should play Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the show, there is another major character in the mix yet to be cast: Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch. He’s an amazing part of the team and such a fun character, so finding the right actor to play him in the MCU will be a daunting task for Marvel. However, as one artist’s amazing fan art proves, it might be time for Marvel to look in the direction of Joseph Quinn!
In a piece of stunning new fan art, digital artist Mizuri offers fans a glimpse into just how amazing Joseph Quinn could be in the role of Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch.
"Saw this casting going around the other day. Joseph Quinn from Stranger Things as Human Torch. Not sure if it’s confirmed, but I thought I’d do a little mock up. Excited for the Fantastic 4 in the MCU."
Via the concept art, Quinn is transformed into the fiery and often hotheaded member of the Fantastic Four complete with the character’s signature blue and black super suit.
Of course, you can’t have the Human Torch without some flames! In the incredible art, we see Quinn’s Johnny Storm “Flame On” with the character’s signature flames coming into play in a moment of mid-transformation.
Honestly, the concept art is truly jaw-dropping and makes a compelling argument for why Marvel should consider Quinn for the role!
Is Joseph Quinn joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Although Marvel has not yet announced the cast for its upcoming Fantastic Four film, it is rumored that Joseph Quinn has been eyed by Marvel to play Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch in the upcoming MCU-set film.
In a recent episode of the podcast The Hot Mic, it was revealed that Quinn is about an 80 to 90% certainty that Quinn has been cast in the Marvel movie. This news comes after months of speculation among fans which suggested he had been tapped to play a key role in the MCU.
After his breakout performance in Stranger Things season 4, many speculated Quinn had landed on Marvel’s radar and that seems to have indeed been the case.
When is Marvel expected to announce the Fantastic Four cast?
Originally, it was expected that the cast for Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie would be announced as early as SDCC 2023; however, due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Marvel is not expected to make any announcements about the cast until the writers’ and actors’ strikes are over.
At this time, there is no timeline for when the strikes will end but there have been rumors the strikes might continue into the fall going as late as October.
Once the strikes have been resolved and new deals have been met with the studios and WGA and SAG-AFTRA, we expect Marvel will rush the movie into production which means a cast will be needed. So there is a strong chance we could see the cast announced shortly after the strike ends.
