The Mandalorian season 3 is not coming to Disney Plus in December 2022

There are some amazing titles coming to Disney Plus in December. Unfortunately, The Mandalorian season 3 is not one of them.

There’s never been a more exciting time to be a Star Wars fan. Sure, there might not be any new movies slated to drop in theaters for several years to come but there is no shortage of Star Wars titles to enjoy over on Disney Plus.

2022 kicked off with new episodes of The Book of Boba Fett. Then came the return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to the franchise as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader in Obi-Wan in May. And we’re now hot off the end of the first season of Andor, which wrapped its run just this week.

While this has all been amazing, the state of programs has left The Mandalorian on the back burner this year. As a result, fans have been counting down the days until the third season’s arrival and, sadly, The Mandalorian season 3 will not be making its way to Disney Plus before 2022 comes to a close.

That’s right, season 3 of Disney’s beloved Star Wars drama won’t be arriving in December as the show is being held for next year.

The Mandalorian season 3 release date updates

While Disney Plus has not announced an official release date for season 3 of The Mandalorian, it has confirmed that season 3 will be arriving sometime in February 2023. This means the show will likely be the first Star Wars series of the new year, and that we’re getting closer and closer to the show’s official return.

Considering there are a few Marvel Studios projects slated for early 2023, we don’t imagine Disney will hold The Mandalorian season 3 too late in the month. As such, it seems likely we could see the new season arriving sometime in the early part of the month, perhaps as early as Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023.

Of course, there is a chance Disney could hold the season until the mid-month point and release it around Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. This would still get the season started before the end of the month without kicking off the new season at the top of the month.

With 2023 inching closer, we should soon find out when the third season will arrive, so here’s hoping Disney won’t keep us in the dark too much longer.
