The next episode for DC’s Stargirl season 3 is also the series finale, and now we have our first look at the upcoming episode.

The moment that Stargirl was cancelled was a moment that DC TV fans had been fearing for some time. The CW’s new management are no longer interested in shows like this (in spite of their success) and that means that the critically-acclaimed gem will now end with its third season.

The good news is that the show will go out on a high. Stargirl is widely regarded as one of the best superhero shows of all time, and the third season has been one of its best installments. The “Frenemies” subplot has been a joy, while the central murder mystery has kept viewers guessing all season.

With the penultimate episode airing on the network this week, The CW has now released the trailer for Stargirl‘s series finale. If you can’t wait until next week for a preview of how it all ends, check out the trailer below.

The episode, titled “Frenemies – Chapter Thirteen: The Reckoning”, will see Courtney Whitmore and the Justice Society of America prepare for the fight of their lives as they take on the biggest threat to Blue Valley’s safety yet. And given that they have already battled the Injustice Society and Eclipso, that’s really saying something.

Will the JSA’s enemies-turned-frenemies Cindy Burman and the Mahkents help them out? How will the events of Starman’s big episode this week play into the finale? And how will Stargirl season 3 come to an end?

While the series finale will undoubtedly be a bittersweet time for the Star-Fam, we can all take comfort in the fact that the show will have a satisfying ending, as Brec Bassinger confirmed that showrunner Geoff Johns shot two endings just in case The CW decided not to renew it.
