Titans season 4 midseason finale review: Episode 6 ends on a high note
By Matthew Roth
Titans season 4 part 1 finishes on a high note and fixes the issues of faltering in the finale as seasons past have done. (Spoilers ahead)
You may remember that this season of the hit show Titans is being split into two halves with the first half wrapping up with episode 6 in dramatic fashion. This season has been a pleasant surprise as it has been focused on the team and how they have come together bonding closer as a family.
One of my favorite parts of this half of the season has been the welcome expansion of Beast Boy’s abilities. In this season we saw him shrink to become a virus to save Connor and in the finale there is a sequence where he changes into a gorilla to save the day.
The finale showcases the team’s ability to never leave a family member behind as they rush to rescue Sebastian from Mother Mayhem. The episode showcases action, drama, and we even see Rachel gaining her powers back as a ritual is done to help them find where Connor has disappeared to. The show is at its strongest when they don’t rely too heavily on visual effects which this episode does a great job of not overdoing it.
Unlike finales in the past, the episode ends on a cliffhanger as Sebastian drinks the blood and fulfills the prophecy, and sets up for an epic second half of the season. Overall the first half finishes on a high note and fixes the issues of faltering in the finale as seasons past have done.
We don’t yet have a date for when the last six episodes will yet air but we do know they will release sometime in 2023. In the meantime get ready as Doom Patrol is set to release on HBO Max on Dec. 8.
Titans season 4 episodes 1-6 are streaming now on HBO Max.
What did you think of this season of Titans? And where do you think they go in the second half?
