The Walking Dead: When does the Daryl Dixon spinoff show come out?
The Walking Dead Universe lives on via its spinoffs, including the upcoming Daryl Dixon spinoff show. When can viewers expect it to arrive?
The series finale of The Walking Dead was all about closure, but that’s not the only thing it was about. While the final episode of the long-running series did indeed focus on wrapping up its central arc, it also set aside some time to set up what comes next through teases and references to some of its upcoming spinoffs.
One of those spinoffs will see Norman Reedus reprise his role as Daryl Dixon in a series that will take the beloved TWD character to France. It was originally going to be a spinoff featuring Daryl and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) but it eventually evolved into a Daryl series when it was announced that McBride had departed the project (although we will see her appear in it in some capacity).
With The Walking Dead now at an end, it leaves the TWD Universe at something of a crossroads, and you can bet fans are ready to see where it leads.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon release date
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will premiere on AMC on Sunday, September 10 2023. It’s one of three new TWD Universe spinoffs that will air over the course of the next year, with all of them designed to expand the TWD Universe.
A 2023 release was always on the cards for Daryl Dixon, but a more specific window came with the reveal that the Maggie and Negan spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City and long-running spinoff Fear The Walking Dead (which is now halfway through its eighth and final season) would precede it. Daryl Dixon‘s release will come in the second half of the year (along with the second half of Fear‘s final season), while the equally-as-anticipated Rick and Michonne spinoff series will premiere in early 2024. Its release date was finally confirmed just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con before it was then announced that it had been renewed for a second season.
The Norman Reedus-led show commenced filming in France last year (and we got our first look at it), so fans knew it would be some time before it made its way to screens. But the wait is nearly over, and it won’t be long until Daryl (and Carol) comes back to us!
