3. Lady Shiva

Lady Shiva hasn’t made her big-screen debut yet. It’s about time it happens. Her presence is established in DC’s movie universe with Cassandra Cain’s Birds of Prey debut. We already know that Cassandra doesn’t know her biological parents. Fans know her mother is Lady Shiva. Before we get to that story, Gunn can take us way back in time. Shiva has an easy and interesting story that could be a dark-comedy revenge flick similar to Kill Bill.

In the comics, Shiva has two different origins. One, Sandra Wu-San, is a normal woman who discovers that her sister was murdered by a martial artist. She does everything she can to defeat to avenge her. She trains and competes until it’s time to face the man who killed her sister, Richard Dragon. Unfortunately, she learns Dragon didn’t do it, and the man who did is dead.

There’s another story where Sandra and her sister are martial artists. She comes home to find her sister dead. The story ties her sister’s death to David Cain, a member of the League of Assassins.

A movie would have to tweak everything by having David as Sandar’s love interest and “student.” The undercover assassin could be by her side, helping her look for the killer when it was him all along.

The movie will end in a showdown. She’d win and be forced to go on the run from the League of Assassins. Flash forward to when she’s giving birth to a child she’ll put up for adoption, thinking she’s protecting her. Post credit could even show Ella Jay’s Cassandra Cain post Birds of Prey, where she’s on the run from someone.
