2. Stargirl season 3

To say that Stargirl is going out on a high would be a major understatement. The show’s third season has been nothing short of spectacular from start to finish, and it’s a rare thing to find a final season as high quality as this – and it’s made all the more astounding by the fact that this wasn’t supposed to be the show’s final season.

Focusing on a murder that takes place in Blue Valley, the show uses the history between the JSA and ISA to craft the perfect murder mystery, as the warring factions all point their fingers at each other (and occasionally themselves) in a bid to find out who the killer really is. Stargirl‘s whimsical-and-yet-eerie tone lends itself to the conventions of a murder mystery incredibly well, while the Frenemies subtitle comes into play effectively, making all of the conflict between the JSA and ISA feel earned and authentic.

There are also some wicked fight scenes in there, and a twist so shocking you will never see it coming, once again highlighting that Stargirl is in a league of its own when it comes to comic book television. The show went down swinging and ensured that we will all be talking about it long after its series finale.
