DC’s Stargirl has been a regular presence in the superhero world over the past few years. How many seasons did the DC and CW series run for?

DC’s Stargirl has had quite the run during its tenure on our TV screens. The series was the last of the six original shows produced for the DC Universe streaming service, but it has since found a home on The CW due to that network’s connection to both Warner Bros. and superhero television via its Arrowverse programming.

The show stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore, a teenager who unwittingly stumbles into the world of superheroics when she is chosen by the Cosmic Staff that once belonged to Starman. With the help of her stepfather Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), Courtney vows to fight crime in Blue Valley and carry on the legacy of the Justice Society of America by assembling a new generation of the JSA.

It’s widely regarded as one of the best comic book adaptation of the past decade, so if you’re considering finding out why it’s so good and want to know how many seasons of it there are, here’s what you need to know.

How many seasons of DC’s Stargirl are there?

There are three seasons of DC’s Stargirl, each one consisting of 13 episodes to bring its overall episode count to 38 episodes. That’s shorter than most superhero shows you’ll find on The CW, but that has a lot to do with the fact that it really wasn’t a CW show.

Stargirl originally began its life as a DC Universe original series. With high prdouction values, stunning special effects and a consistently compelling central story, the series felt more like a movie than a TV series. Its success via a TV debut on The CW saw the network swoop in to save it when the DC Universe service folded, with the second and third seasons maintaining the cinematic look that made Stargirl stand out.

Unfortunately, when the network was bought by Nexstar, the decision was made to end Stargirl with its third season. However, even though it was cancelled prematurely, showrunner Geoff Johns ensured that it ended on a satisfying note so that it preserve Stargirl‘s watchability and allow the show to end on a high.
