Fear The Walking Dead season 8 latest updates (December 2022)
Fear The Walking Dead season 8 isn’t far off. When can viewers expect it and what updates have been announced thus far?
AMC is preparing for a huge year for its The Walking Dead Universe. It seems odd to even say that considering that The Walking Dead ended this year, but the TWD Universe is set to expand without its parent show in the aftermath of its series finale.
But while the world of The Walking Dead grows with spinoffs like Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and the Rick and Michonne series, the original TWD spinoff Fear The Walking Dead will return to screens for its eighth season.
Season 7 was a huge one for Fear, with original lead Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) returning after being presumed dead halfway through season 4. It was a moment that fans had been waiting for, and one well worth the wait.
Nevertheless, with all of the talk about the TWD Universe, what are the latest updates regarding Fear season 8?
When does Fear The Walking Dead season 8 come out?
Fear The Walking Dead season 8 will premiere on AMC in 2023. After its renewal, the show commenced filming on its eighth season during the summer, so speculation about when it would return began to make its way around the internet, especially given that parent series The Walking Dead would conclude in November.
Nevertheless, it was subsequently confirmed that Fear The Walking Dead season 8 would debut in 2023 when AMC released a behind-the-scenes clip that confirmed it was in-production and would return next year.
The next update came when a new trailer for all of the TWD spinoffs aired after The Walking Dead‘s series finale on AMC+. While all three of the new shows were also confirmed to debut sometime in 2023, the promo positioned Fear The Walking Dead with The Walking Dead: Dead City (which currently has an April 2023 release date), suggesting that they would be the first arrivals of the year.
If that is the case, then Fear The Walking Dead season 8 could arrive in early 2023, debuting the first half of its season prior to Dead City‘s debut. That said, AMC could always choose to hold it until after Dead City, airing its complete season in the spring.
It’s all unclear right now, so it’s best to wait for an announcement from AMC, but with all of the spinoffs coming next year, we should expect Fear to return in the first half of the year.
