3 reasons why the MCU should go lower budget with X-Men
Character Driven Stories
A low-budget X-Men universe would allow the franchise to be rebooted and reinvented in a way that is both fresh and faithful to the source material. The X-Men comics are known for their complex and often deeply personal stories, and a low-budget approach would allow these stories to be told on screen in a more intimate and character-driven way that would not be overshadowed by anything extreme going on around them.
Take Logan for example. Logan is a great character-driven story that focuses on the emotional journey of an old retired Wolverine, as he faces the challenges and struggles of both his deteriorating physical health and his relationships with other characters. The film explores Logan’s complex and often strained relationship with his mentor and father figure, Charles Xavier. It also puts him in the role of a father figure with X-23.
Through these relationships, the audience is able to see the depth of Logan’s character and the internal conflicts he faces as he grapples with his own mortality. This character development and emotional depth make Logan an incredibly compelling and highly engaging story that remains one of the strongest parts of the X-Men film series. We need these types of stories from the X-Men.
