5. DC Comics animated projects

The animated projects produced by DC and Warner Bros are vastly superior to anything another comic book company has put out. Even the newer ones like Invincible, Ultimate Spider-Man, and What if…? aren’t as good as the classic DC Comics cartoons. Batman: The Animated Series and both Justice League cartoons remain flawless decades later. Adding to that legacy are newer projects like Young Justice and Harley Quinn – both of which are becoming legendary in their own right.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe may be better than the DCEU, but DC Comics dominates in the animated genre. Justice League: Doom, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, and Batman: Long Halloween are only three examples of their animated movies that blew this writer away. Producing more cartoons would also be a bold move that might start a trend.

How the movie is portrayed won’t stop people from heading to the theaters. They can still be PG-13 or R rated. As long as the animation looks good, people will check it out. Plus, as we’ve seen with Disney, kids and adults alike go to G rated films. Maybe Warner Bros should stop making live action comic book movies and switch to animated ones. They’re already one of the best at it.

Either way, Peter Safran and James Gunn’s interconnected DC Universe will feature some animation, so here’s hoping it’s as strong as DC’s legendary cartoons.
