When is Loki returning in 2023?

Loki will return to Disney Plus next year for its second season, but when can Marvel Cinematic Universe fans expect it?

Marvel Studios’ use of the Disney Plus streaming service as a means of telling extended stories set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a huge success. However, none may have been more successful than Loki.

Tom Hiddleston easily slotted back into his role as the MCU’s devilish trickster in a show that retold his redemption arc and took this new version of the character on a trip through time. And it did all that by being the MCU’s first Disney Plus show to debut on a Wednesday – becoming its most successful thus far.

Naturally, fans are ready for the second season – and the good news is that it is indeed on its way.

Loki season 2 release date updates

Loki season 2 is coming to Disney Plus in summer 2023. The confirmation was made at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 when Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege revealed the slate of upcoming titles in Phase 5 of the MCU.

This narrows Loki‘s premiere month down to May, June, July, or August. It’s also worth bearing in mind that fellow MCU show Echo was set to debut in summer as well, and it is listed before Loki on the graphic Feige unveiled. However, new information suggests that Echo could be delayed until later in the year. If that’s the case, Loki season 2 could premiere earlier in the summer than initially anticipated.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that a new Disney Plus 2023 teaser trailer showcased new clips from Loki and none from Echo. Perhaps the Trickster, Mobius, and Sylvie could be set to return sooner than we all thought?
