Warner Bros. Discovery to showcase The Flash movie trailer at the Super Bowl LVII
The long-anticipated trailer for The Flash movie finally has a date and it will premiere in February 2023 during the Super Bowl.
As per The Wrap, Hollywood insider Umberto Gonzalez (also of Heroic Hollywood) gave the scoop that a trailer for the long-awaited The Flash movie is set to premiere at the 2022 season of the NFL at the Super Bowl LVII on Feb. 12, 2023.
This is the first time in almost two decades that Warner Bros. has advertised their slate of films during the Big Game, spanning an absence of 17 years. Their last was in 2006 when promo spots for the likes of 16 Blocks, V for Vendetta, and Poseidon were featured.
According to insiders close to the project, The Flash has been testing positively, so much so that the head honcho at Warner Bros. Discovery positioned their promo in front of their competitor’s superhero film – Marvel Studios Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
The first trailer debuted at the 2021 DC FanDome event in October of that year, which was more of a First Look teaser than a first official trailer. Prior to WBD’s investor call from its CEO, David Zaslav, this writer had a theory on when the flick’s trailer will premiere although off by a couple of months, we did finally get an official announcement this month in December.
The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Ron Livingston, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, and Rudy Mancuso.
Andy Muschietti is directing from a screenplay by Christina Hodson based on a screen story by Joby Harold, John Francis Daley, and Jonathan Goldstein, Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco are producing. Marianne Jenkins serves as an executive producer.
The high-speed multiversal superhero film is being produced by The Disco Factory in association with Double Dream and DC Studios. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing.
The Flash is set to exit the Speed Force and hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
