4. Kamala Khan

Marvel project: Ms. Marvel

Actress: Iman Vellani

Kamala Khan was Iman Vellani’s first role as an actress and she was a standout. She encompassed everything that anyone could want from Kamala. Her love for the Avengers was adorable and helped mold her into a hero. Kamala’s respect and love of her religion contributed well. It gave her a sense of responsibility and made her courageous. She was also funny and lovable.

Another thing that has to be mentioned is Kamala’s potential as an MCU hero. She’s going to become one of the most popular characters Marvel Studios has ever produced. If you want to know why, look no further than Iman Vellani and the passion she puts into the role. Plus, Muslim and Pakistani women will have a popular comic book character on the big and small screens that looks like them. Another reason why representation is important to all genres.

3. K’uk’ulkan/N’Amor

Marvel project: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Actor: Tenoch Huerta Mejía

If you’re a comic book fan, you probably couldn’t wait to see Namor make his way to the MCU. With licensing being weird, it seemed like it would never happen. Not only did Namor appear in an MCU movie, but Tenoch Huerta Mejía also brought the character to life and showed how powerful Namor is. On top of that, he showed how great of a king he is because of his dedication to Atlantis.

K’uk’ulkan was inspirational while he was speaking to the people of Atlantis. He didn’t come off like a snake oil salesman. He believed everything he said and was willing to fight for it. He showed this by fighting beside his people at all times. Things like this made it easy to be sympathetic to his cause. Although, trying to kill Riri Williams does make him a villain.

This writer is thankful he didn’t die in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It would have been a waste of an actor and a character.
