MCU: The 20 best Marvel Cinematic Universe characters of 2022
By Mark Lynch
16. Thor
Marvel project: Thor: Love and Thunder
Actor: Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth is the most consistent actor Marvel Studios has. No matter what he’s asked to do, he does it well. So don’t let the low ranking fool you. The problem wasn’t the actor. It was the material. Nevertheless, whether or not you liked Thor: Love and Thunder, Chris Hemsworth was great.
It takes a special actor to do what he did and make it look good. Thor was overly goofy – so much so that people thought it was too much. Yet, he still had moments where he shined. For example, at the end of the movie when Jane Foster was dying. It showed that he wasn’t the issue Here’s hoping that the next Thor project is less wacky. He should leave the MCU on a high note.
15. Gorr
Marvel project: Thor: Love and Thunder
Actor: Christian Bale
Casting Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher was genius. He’s an elite actor with a ton of classic movies and roles under his belt. Among them is the Dark Knight Trilogy. Because the role called for more drama than we’ve seen from a Marvel Studios villain, he was an easy choice.
Of course, Bale was going to knock this out of the park. There was only one problem with him. He didn’t get enough screen time. If he did, he would have been ranked higher. Both Bale and Gorr are too good to not be used more.
