MCU: The 20 best Marvel Cinematic Universe characters of 2022
By Mark Lynch
12. Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk
Marvel project: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
Actress: Tatiana Maslany
There hasn’t been a Marvel Studios project that’s left people more divided. There was no in-between with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Either way, like Thor in Love and Thunder, you can’t deny how good and comic-accurate Jennifer Walters was. Tatiana Maslany proved why there were no complaints about her before, during, or after her MCU debut.
An underrated part of Tatiana Maslany’s performance is how she showed the contradiction that is Jennifer Walters. She’s insecure, yet confident. Both weak and strong. It was the same when she was Hulked up as well. She hated to admit how much she loved her new form even though she slowly embraced it. And, in the final episode, she crushed the fourth wall and asked when the X-Men were coming.
11. King Valkyrie
Marvel project: Thor: Love and Thunder
Actress: Tessa Thompson
Valkyrie gave fans everything you could ask for. When she picked up Dragonfang (her sword), she fought until she physically couldn’t anymore. An admirable quality. She also knew how to be diplomatic. You could tell how great she was by how effortlessly they ran things in New Asgard. Beings from across the Nine Realms were in one place at once, yet there was no fighting. On top of that, Valkyrie was smooth. When she fought off a bunch of guards and then kissed a woman’s hand before leaving, you couldn’t help but to smile. Valkyrie needs her own show or movie even if it doesn’t involve Thor.
