Marvel: Ryan Gosling stuns a Nova in jaw-dropping image

Nova is rumored to be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it’s not hard to see why fans want Ryan Gosling to play him! 

Across its many movies and shows, Marvel has introduced many iconic comic book characters and the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand with each passing year. The upcoming years are set to introduce even more characters from the pages of Marvel Comics into the MCU including the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and more.

Among those rumored to finally be joining the MCU is Nova, better known as Richard Rider, a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps.

Nova has a long and storied history in the Marvel Comics universe, and his addition to the MCU is sure to bring new and exciting storylines to the franchise. Whether he will team up with other beloved characters like the Avengers or strike out on his own remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Nova’s arrival in the MCU is sure to be a thrilling addition to the franchise.

Marvel fans have long speculated about the possibility of Nova joining the franchise, and the recent rumors about his possible arrival have been met with excitement. It is not yet clear how Nova will be introduced into the MCU, or which actor will portray the character. However, there is one name that fans seem quite interested in having play the role: Ryan Gosling.

Gosling has long been a favorite to play the role and, thanks to an incredible piece of fan art, we now have the chance to see just what Gosling could look like in the role if given the chance.

What Ryan Gosling could look like as Nova

With all of the recent buzz about Nova finally entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe, digital artist Josh “Clements.ink” found inspiration in fan casts of Ryan Gosling in the role which led to the creation of an amazing piece of concept art envision Gosling as the iconic Marvel hero.

In the jaw-dropping concept art, Gosling is transformed into Nova complete with a sleek and modernized variation of the character’s iconic blue and gold suit. Of course, Nova’s look wouldn’t be complete without a nod to the Nova Force, the energy source transferred to Rider by the Nova-Centurion Rhomann Dey which gives Nova his superhuman abilities and is showcased in the character’s unique costume.

While just concept art, it does an amazing job of showcasing how perfect Gosling could be in the role of Nova should Marvel come calling. It also showcases just why so many fans are eager to see him in the role.

Is Ryan Gosling playing Nova in a Marvel project?

At this time, Marvel has not formally announced Nova’s arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Therefore, it is unclear who will play the character in the MCU. What we do know is that there are rumors swirling which suggest Marvel is looking to introduce the character of Nova via a special presentation similar to the Werewolf by Night Halloween special.

It’s also clear that Ryan Gosling would be interested in joining the MCU, though it appears he had his sights set on a different character.

Following an interview with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz, Gosling revealed to the Happy Sad Confused podcast host that he has his sights set on playing Ghost Rider.  As Horowitz revealed in a tweet following his interview with Goslin:

"“Ryan and I chatted about the Nova rumors yesterday which he said aren’t true. BUT this morning Ryan reached out to me to say there is one superhero he wants to play…GHOST RIDER.”"

At this time, Gosling has yet to formally join the MCU in any capacity, but there is a clear interest from both the actor and fans to see him suit up as a Marvel hero. Whether that turns out to be Nova or Ghost Rider, there’s really no going wrong in bringing Gosling into the MCU!
