The second trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been released and fans are in meltdown. Here, we take a moment to break down the new Ant-Man 3 trailer.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may just be the most anticipated Marvel movie since Spider-Man: No Way Home… or perhaps even since Avengers: Endgame. While the latter of those movies closed out the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Infinity Saga, Ant-Man 3 promises to kick the new Multiverse Saga into full flow.

An unexpected trip into the Quantum Realm will leave Scott Lang with nowhere to turn but to the mysterious Kang the Conqueror, but his offer is not one he should consider taking because, as Marvel Comics fans know, Kang is not to be taken (or trusted) lightly.

Marvel Studios released the second trailer for Ant-Man 3 during ESPN’s coverage of the National College Football Game. And well, to say that it has the internet in a meltdown would be an understatement.

Kang the Conqueror is not to be taken lightly in Ant-Man 3

It’s no surprise to see Jonathan Majors featured heavily as Kang the Conqueror in the second Quantumania trailer. We got our first look at him in the previous one and, after what he teased as He Who Remains in Loki, audiences are expecting big things from Kang.

We get a glimpse of those big things in the new trailer, as Kang offers to help Scott Lang, Hope van Dyne, Janet van Dyne, Hank Pym, and Cassie Lang escape the Quantum Realm and make up for lost time. But Janet doesn’t trust him, and not just because she’s skeptical of him due to her time in the Quantum Realm.

Kang offers Scott the chance to get back the time with his daughter that he lost due to the Blip. Janet tries to talk him out of it, but that’s one area Scott truly feels like he lost in. And so, it appears that he will agree to help Kang get whatever it is he needs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go the Ant-Fam’s way.

As audiences from San Diego Comic-Con (who got their exclusive first look at the movie there) know, Kang reportedly asks Scott in the movie: “You’re an Avenger? Have I killed you before?”. And that sinister tone comes through again in this trailer, with the MCU’s next big bad telling Ant-Man that he’s “out of his depth”.

Kang and Scott end up fighting, with the villain gleefully asking Scott if he truly thought he could win. Ant-Man reminds him that he doesn’t have to win, the pair of them just have to lose.

Is this Ant-Man’s last stand? We’ll have to wait and see. But prepare for a showdown for the ages when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrives in movie theaters on February 17, 2023.
