Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will introduce the MCU to its biggest threat since Thanos. Here’s what you need to know.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to be one of the biggest movies of the year. It hasn’t come out yet, but it’s clear that whenever a Marvel movie is on the calendar, success is inevitable.

The previous two Ant-Man movies have been very successful, each of them grossing over half a billion dollars. The third one, however, could do even more. Why? Well, that might have something to do with the fact that it’s going to be the most important Ant-Man movie yet.

The trailers have already teased that, and it’s all down to the one of the villains of the piece. If you’re ready for Ant-Man 3 and would like to know more about the next big bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, read on.

Who is the villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania?

Scott Lang has faced off against some major threats since he first donned his super-suit. He even went up against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. However, he may have to face off against his biggest threat in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as he will cross paths with the entity set to be the MCU’s next big bad: Kang the Conqueror.

Portrayed by Jonathan Majors, Kang is an alternate timeline variant of Loki‘s He Who Remains, and he is trapped in the Quantum Realm, seemingly in need of Ant-Man’s help to escape it.  Whether or not he is the main villain of the movie remains to be seen, because we already know he’s set to play a major role going forward (with a confirmed appearance in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty at the very least), so he can’t be defeated here, right?

Also set to appear in the film is MODOK, a mutated, cybernetically enhanced entity with an oversized head who once starred in his own animated series on Hulu. His appearance here is also pretty pivotal as it will mark the infamous and iconic Marvel villain’s MCU debut.
