When does Glenn die in The Walking Dead?
Glenn Rhee was a fixture of The Walking Dead from the very start of the show. When did he meet his unfortunate end on the show?
Who knows where any of the characters on The Walking Dead would be without Glenn Rhee. Without question one of the most kind, trustworthy, genuine, and loyal characters in all of the TWD Universe, Glenn truly cared about people – and that was clear right from his first appearance on the show.
Portrayed to perfection by Steven Yeun, he made first on-screen appearance in the second episode of the show and remained a regular part of it until he crossed paths with Negan in the most infamous scene in the show’s 12-year history.
If you heard about Glenn’s demise, or have started watching the show and simply want to know when to expect it, here’s what you need to know.
When does Glenn Rhee die in The Walking Dead?
Glenn dies in The Walking Dead season 7, becoming the second victim of Negan’s brutal debut. The jaw-dropping moment came in the season premiere, titled “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” and it happened just after Negan killed another major character. While viewers expected one death, the second caught them all off-guard as the villain use his bat Lucille to beat Glenn to death in front of his loved ones.
It also caught viewers off-guard because the show had done a fakeout death with Glenn in the previous season, so by all rights he should have been safe from Negan’s destructive arrival. But he wasn’t, and his death scene was incredibly controversial because of just how brutal it was.
Even after Glenn’s death he never truly stopped being a part of the show, as his beloved Maggie carried on his legacy along with his son Hershel Rhee.
