Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: Which characters will die?
By Mark Lynch
Here’s who may die in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, why could it happen, and how it would affect the future of the franchise.
The new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was intense. Unlike Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, the Quantumania trailer has a dark tone. For example, Scott Lang is forced to deal with missing time with his daughter Cassie Lang. A feeling that Kang plans to exploit. Like any loving father, getting back the time you missed is tempting. However, as we’ve seen in multiple comic books and movies, changing the past affects the present and the future. It also creates new timelines.
In many Marvel Studios movies, a main character dies. It’s usually a way to get the audience emotionally invested in the ending of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie or an upcoming project. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania likely won’t be any different. Here are the characters and the likelihood that they won’t make it past this movie.
Scott Lang (Ant-Man)
Ant-Man is one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and everyone loves Paul Rudd. Normally, that would mean he’ll survive this film. However, Paul Rudd has been playing Ant-Man for eight years and Quantumania will be his sixth Marvel Studios movie. Is Rudd’s time with the franchise done?
This could be where Scott Lang goes out a hero. It would be the saddest death in MCU history. Maybe the most memorable death in any comic book project. It would also give Cassie Lang more of a reason to be a hero.
