The Last of Us cast: Who plays Ellie in HBO’s The Last of Us?
The Last of Us introduces us to Ellie in its premiere episode, but who plays the character in the HBO series?
If you’re a fan of The Last of Us video games, you’ll know that the character of Ellie plays a huge role in the saga. She’s one of the two main characters, and after crossing paths with Joel, she forms an alliance with him as he attempts to protect her from the dangers of the world and ensure her survival. In the video games, she is portrayed by Ashley Johnson.
Naturally, she is also a major part of HBO‘s new adaptation of the video game, and she is set to showcase why she’s such a fan-favorite character to a whole new audience on the show. That said, who plays her on The Last of Us series?
Who plays Ellie in The Last of Us?
Ellie is played by Bella Ramsey in HBO’s The Last of Us. This role could very well be considered the biggest of her career thus far, but it also has some major competition for that title because Ramsey is perhaps best known for her role as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones – a role which she portrayed between 2016 and 2019.
Those aren’t the only major roles on television that the 19-year-old actor is known for, though, as she also starred in three seasons of The Worst Witch, played a main role in historical miniseries Becoming Elizabeth, appeared in episodes of His Dark Materials, and voices the main character in Netflix animated series Hilda (and its movie spinoff). She also recently starred in the medieval comedy film Catherine Called Birdy.
Needless to say, Bella Ramsey has a lot of roles to her name, and we can’t wait to see more of her performance as Ellie on The Last of Us.
