The Disney Plus series was one of 2022’s most exciting new shows, and it succeeded in every way, entertaining Marvel fans ready for a new chapter of the MCU and critics ready to judge another installment of the ever-growing world of Phase Four.

It might seem a little extreme to say that it’s been crickets since the show concluded its six-episode run but, well, it’s almost been crickets. There have been rumors, reports, and rumblings about the future of the show but it’s only resulted in more speculation about when – or if – Khonshu’s Fist of Justice will return.

Has Moon Knight been cancelled?

No, Moon Knight has not been cancelled. The show was a huge success for Marvel Studios, adding to its legacy of Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Disney Plus and kicking off an exciting new chapter.

Most of the MCU shows on Disney Plus are essentially limited series, meaning that if they don’t return for a second season, it’s because they were always intended for just one season. However, Moon Knight is one of the few exceptions with scope for a season 2, with the season finale actually hinting at more to come.

Moon Knight season 2 updates

It’s been heavily rumored that Moon Knight season 2 will happen in the future. After the first season ended, it was reported that Marvel Studios were happy with how the character was received, with rumors suggesting he would return in the future. But the question remained as to whether Marvel wanted to welcome him into the MCU in a different project, or if they were happy to keep him separate (for now) with a season 2.

The first significant piece of Moon Knight season 2 news in a long time came in October 2022 when Oscar Isaac confirmed to ComicBook.com that he had been having conversations with Marvel about reprising the role. He added that the conversations were “pleasant” but that he does not yet know if it would be for a future season of the show or in another capacity in the MCU.

A recent rumor now suggests that Moon Knight season 2 could premiere on Disney Plus ahead of the theatrical release of Avengers: Secret Wars in 2026. But, as always, all rumors must be taken with a grain of salt until confirmed by Marvel Studios.

Taking all of that into account, it’s looking likely that Moon Knight will be back on screens in the future.
