Co-Chairman and CEO of DC Studios James Gunn reveals that he will probably work with Chris Pratt again, alluding to his potential arrival in the DC Universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is just months away. As exciting as it is, its release will be a bittersweet one for fans, as it means saying goodbye to the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters that they have fallen in love with over the past nine years.

It’s also the end of an era for director James Gunn, who leaves the MCU behind after this movie to start a new chapter with Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC Studios – of which he and Peter Safran are now the Co-Chairmen and CEOs of.

But even new chapters can have some familiar faces, it seems. Gunn discussed his love for his Guardians family in a recent interview with Empire (H/T: The Direct), hinting adding that he will work with some of those people (including Chris Pratt) again, and that it would “probably” be at his “other job”. He said:

"“This cast are like my family. I cannot tell you how close I am to Chris Pratt and Pom [Klementieff] and Dave [Bautista] and Zoe [Saldaña] and Karen [Gillan]. But I also know I will work again with all those people individually again. Probably at my other job.”"

Could Chris Pratt and the Guardians of the Galaxy cast join the DC Universe someday?

It certainly sounds like Gunn could work with Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldaña, Pom Klementieff and Karen Gillan again in the future and it could take place in the DC Universe. Now that he is overseeing the new DC Universe (his “other job”), it goes without saying that he will have ideas about which characters any of those actors could play should they join the DCU in the future.

Gunn and Safran are currently putting together their slate for the first chapter of the new DC Universe, which will essentially take over from the old DC Extended Universe. No title outside of a new Superman movie has been confirmed, but Gunn has teased that we will learn a little bit about what they have in store in the coming weeks.
