The full writing team for The Marvels has now been revealed
The full writing team for upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels, has been revealed.
With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania set to kick off Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, things are still pretty much under wraps for The Marvels as even Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 received an official trailer last month in December. However, one thing that isn’t under wraps is the writers, as the full writing team for the movie has been revealed.
As we already know, Nia DaCosta is directing The Marvels, replacing filmmaking duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck who were behind the 2019 original film. DaCosta also contributed to the screenplay of the forthcoming sequel, as did WandaVision writer, Megan McDonnell.
Elissa Karasik, who penned an episode of Loki, has also co-written the film’s script along with Marvel Zombies head writer and The Amazing Spider-Man comics scribe, Zeb Wells. Wells also written the episode “The Retreat” for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
What is The Marvels actually about?
Up until recently, not much was known about The Marvels, except for the fact that Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel is caught up in adventure Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau (who is set to become Spectrum). A recently-released synopsis adds more to the premise, revealing that their powers are somehow linked and that “this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as ‘The Marvels.'”
What is implied to be the cause of the switch-a-roos as shown when Kamala swapped places with Carol in the mid-credits scene of Ms. Marvel, is what the latter did possibly during her travels in space she found herself in an “anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary.”
The Marvels is on track to be released July, 28, 2023.
