It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a week since The Last of Us premiered on TV screens around the world. Wherever you were watching it from, people were talking were about it. And that positive word-of-mouth (along with the influence of the positive reviews and general excitement for the video game adaptation to debut) showed, as the series’ premiere was HBO’s second-biggest in the past decade, with only House of the Dragon drawing more eyeballs.

When you start as high as that, you can rest assured that the anticipation for the next installment is even higher. That’s not surprising after the conclusion of the hour-long premiere, which set the stage nicely for the show’s sophomore outing.

The Last of Us episode 2 premieres on HBO tonight at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time, and 8:00 p.m. Central Time. It will be made available to stream on HBO Max simultaneously in the various locations that it is available in.

Some countries are also doing a simulcast, with it airing at the same time on different TV channels around the world. In the UK, for example, it will air on Sky Atlantic at 2:00 a.m. GMT.

The second episode is titled “Infected” and it will undoubtedly shed some light on last week’s big cliffhanger, likely giving us more of an insight into Ellie’s story and why the Fireflies are determined to keep her safe.
