Marvel reveals new Avengers line-up (and their new leader)

The Avengers are getting a new roster led by the cosmic powerhouse Captain Marvel. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are also receiving a new creative team consisting of all-stars Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa.

Jason Aaron started his run as writer of the Avengers back in 2018. While there, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes fought Celestials, battled a god in The Age of Khonshu, and fought gods and more during the War of the Realms. Now, after over four years, his run is coming to an end after Avengers Assemble.

Of course, Marvel needs the Avengers. Not only are they a money maker, they help protect the comic book universe. With Jason Aaron’s roster disbanding, it’s time for a new team and leader.

This writer knew that a new roster was going to be assembled. He also hoped that Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) would lead the team. It’s been a long time since she’s led the Avengers and it seems like the perfect time for her to start. As reported by IGN.com, that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Writer Jed MacKay and artist C.F. Villa. will be the creative team behind the Carol Danvers led Avengers.

Thor, Iron Man, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Black Panther, Vision, and the Scarlet Witch will fill out the roster with Captain Marvel in charge. While all of them have been Avengers before, they’ve all grown over the years; Wanda Maximoff more than anyone. After 616 Mephisto’s and the Multiversal Masters of Evil, the bar of what to expect has been set pretty high. And it looks like Terminus is ready to show the world he’s more dangerous than the Lord of Hell.

Jed MacKay said in a statement:

"“This is big, loud Avengers stuff—nothing in this story should ever feel small or inconsequential, and our lineup reflects that. Heavy hitters and iconic Avengers are to the fore—The Tribulation Events are coming, and only the Avengers can take them on.”"

This writer has no doubt that MacKay and the new creative team will live up to this promise.
