Get your first look at The Flash’s final season premiere
The Flash is coming to an end this year and The CW has revealed the first look at the show’s final season premiere.
Every era must come to an end, even one as revolutionary as the Arrowverse. The CW’s legendary shared universe of superheroes started over a decade ago with Arrow, and it will now conclude in a few months when Arrow‘s very first spinoff The Flash bows out this year.
After the show’s renewal for season 9 in March last year, an abundance of Arrowverse shows were canceled due to The CW’s sale to Nexstar. That meant that when it was confirmed that The Flash season 9 would be the show’s last, it would also be the last for the Arrowverse.
After months off-screen, the Scarlet Speedster returns in the season 9 premiere on Wednesday, February 8. And now, The CW has revealed the first look at the premiere episode “Wednesday Ever After”.

The final season of The Flash premieres on Wednesday, February 8 2023, at 8:00 p.m. ET. That’s not far off, but to get audiences excited, The CW has released the first look promo photos from the season 9 premiere “Wednesday Ever After”. Check them out below.
Starting things out with our Scarlet Speedster himself, the season premiere will of course see Barry Allen don his iconic red suit to take on a brand new threat.
As always, Barry won’t be going into battle alone. His beloved wife, Iris West-Allen, will be right by his side. And since it’s been a while since Barry and Iris fought alongside each other on the battlefield, we’re excited to see them team up once again in Central City.
Here’s hoping we get a lot of that this season!
Another still suggests that the showdown The Flash finds himself in is going well. We’re all smiles in the season premiere, it seems – and that is a very good thing! Remember, The Flash is at its best when it’s fun!
Speaking of smiles, Allegra seems to be having a good time at Central City Citizen Media, and after the trust that Iris had in her last season, that’s not really surprising. It will be interesting to see what kind of role she plays (both at CCC Media and on the show in general) in the final season.
Who knows what Chester is getting up to in this photograph. No doubt he will find himself in his lab a lot over the course of The Flash‘s ninth and final season.
Even with the fun of fighting crime in the field, The Flash‘s season 9 premiere will have Barry Allen looking concerned more than once. But what is on the hero’s mind as he prepares for his final run around Central City?
These first look photos come after The CW released a trailer for The Flash season 9 at the end of last year. And that was just a tease of what’s to come. With the villainous Red Death to contend with, as well as the returns of Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), John Diggle (David Ramsey), and some familiar Flash rogues, season 9 is shaping up to be a memorable final hurrah for the Scarlet Speedster and Team Flash.
