James Gunn suggested that some MCU actors could jump ship to DC Films. Question is, which DC characters could they play in the DCU?

James Gunn, the new co-head of DC Studios, shocked a lot fans when he announced the departure of Henry Cavil. People naturally wondered who else would not return, who will play Superman and what DC movies will Gunn and Peter Safran produce? Without answers fans are only left to speculate. However, Gunn recently shared his approach to casting actors for future DC projects.

In a tweet, he stated that while some roles will be filled by actors he has worked with before, others will be brand new faces and some will be actors that audiences already know. Gunn emphasized that what matters most is that the actor fits the role and is easy to work with.

This statement has sparked speculation about which actors from Gunn’s past projects will make the jump to the DC Universe. The Guardians of the Galaxy cast, which includes Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, and Karen Gillan, have been praised for their chemistry and performances under Gunn’s direction. The director has even referred to them as “like [his] family.”

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Gunn hinted that he may work with members of the Guardians cast again at his “other job” as head of DC Studios. We’ve already seen him do it with Nathan Fillion, Michael Roooker, and  Sean Gunn, all of who played a role in The Suicide Squad.

Some people may complain about the idea, but we’ve seen directors do it before. Quentin Tarantino used Samuel L. Jackson and Brad Pitt in multiple movies, while Tim Burton has continually collaborated with Johnny Depp, and James Cameron with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

However, fans should not expect a direct transfer of the Guardians to the DC Universe, as Gunn has stated that the choices for the DCU will be based on what he believes is best for the story and the characters.

Gunn and Safran have emphasized that they will be making choices with integrity and with the story in mind. This approach is refreshing and fans can look forward to a diverse range of actors and unique stories in the future of the DC Universe.

However, if the Guardians of the Galaxy cast appear in DC movies, who could they play?
