If you’re hoping to see The Witcher season 3 this month, you won’t find it on Netflix’s February titles.

The second season of Netflix’s The Witcher premiered just before the holidays in December 2021. It’s now been over a year and the third season has yet to premiere on screens. The good news is that it’s on its way; the bad news is that it is something of an unexpected end of an era for the show.

If you’ve been keeping up to date with the news of the third season’s development, you probably already know that it will be the last time we see Henry Cavill portray Geralt of Rivia on the show. The actor announced his departure from the show before it was subsequently announced that Liam Hemsworth would be taking over the role for season 4 onwards.

But fans of Cavill’s performance still have season 3 to enjoy, as the star did complete filming on the third season before his exit was announced. Unfortunately, you won’t see those new episodes in February, as Netflix released its line-up for the coming month and The Witcher season 3 is not listed there.

The Witcher season 3 release date predictions

The Witcher season 3 will premiere on Netflix in summer 2023. This was initially announced at Netflix’s TUDUM presentation before it was then confirmed by showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich in an interview with Collider (when she revealed in the December interview that we were “eight-ish” months away from the release of season 3). Taking that into account, an August 2023 release window is looking very likely.

If you’ve been keeping up to date on all things The Witcher, you probably knew not to expect it anytime soon, but with all of the recent developments with Henry Cavill’s departure and recast, a delay would have been possible. Thankfully, that doesn’t appear to be the case, as The Witcher season 3 is still seemingly on track for its summer release.

As always, Netflix will officially announce a more specific window as we get closer to the summer, so it’s best to wait for that. In the meantime, however, there is plenty of time to start your rewatch of seasons 1 and 2!
