Marvel Comics: 50 best Marvel comic books of the 2000s
By Mark Lynch
32. Dark Avengers
Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
If there’s one villain who should never be in charge of the Avengers it’s Norman Osborn. Beyond being a murderous psychopath who’s the Green Goblin, he doesn’t really care about people. What’s worse are the moments where he looks like a capable leader. Nevertheless, all that gets thrown out of the window. He put known villains and killers Bullseye, Moonstone, and Mac Gargan on the roster. With that being said, it was sixteen issues of some of the most fun you’ll have reading a comic. You’ll also notice that Bullseye was a better Hawkeye than Clint Barton.
31. Supreme Power
Writer: J. Michael Straczynski
Welcome to a world where the stories of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are different. These characters are more ruthless and darker than their DC Comics counterparts. Hyperion (Superman) was immediately taken into custody by the U.S. Government and trained to be what they wanted and needed.
Darkhawk (Batman) watched as his parents were killed by racists. Power Princess (Wonder Woman) was a sleeping god until she was woken up. She immediately took the life of the guys who woke her up. This may seem like a pretty base story, but there are a lot of twists that make this great. This was also years before Injustice: Gods Among Us and The Boys.
